Possible Exciting collabration with new friends from Denmark and Greenland
Just before Christmas we had an exciting visit from Royal Greenland and the Port of Hirtshals. Royal Greenland is one of the world's 10 largest seafood companies and is headquartered in Nuuk, Greenland. In 2017, they had a turnover of 5.6 billion (DK) and have more than 2,500 employees globally.
They have a total of 48 factories and fish processing plants and 16 boats in coastal fishing or trawling. The challenge they have is that they have a large throughput of crews on both the boats and in the factories they lack labor, which means that they have now employed eg from China and the Philippines. Of course, they want to hire local workers and as part of this focus they want to give something more to the employees, for example in the form of training, which hopefully will give the employees more ownership of the job and more predictability for Royal Greenland.
Royal Greenland works closely with the Port of Hirtshals. Linn from the Port of Hirtshals is also very concerned with raising the activity level in the harbor and therefore joined us with Royal Greenland.
We even managed sightseeing from Fjellstua and tasted the famous "Svele". It will be very exciting to see where this leads :)
